The library commemorates the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

27 January marks the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust. The library is currently hosting an exhibition that focuses on the theme of resistance, highlighting the courageous individuals who stood up against evil during the Holocaust. The exhibition also features a wide variety of interesting books related to the theme.

The exhibition is created by the Swedish public agency The Living History Forum. They present it like this:

The exhibition titled "Resistance" is focused on commemorating individuals who resisted the Nazi German terror, who defied the popular opinion and chose to fight back. These individuals came from different backgrounds, held different political and religious beliefs and their opposition to the Nazi regime manifested in various forms.

It features individuals such as student and activist Sophie Scholl, artist and author Willem Arondeus and social worker and nurse Irena Sendler. The exhibited books include non-fiction, fiction, and biographies.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The day occurs on the same date that the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp was liberated in 1945. It aims to honor all those murdered during the Holocaust as well as all those who resisted. It is also a day that reminds us of the equal value of all people.
