Congratulations to all newly graduated students
On 17 January, approximately 180 students who have studied nursing, social work and specialist nursing at the School of Health and Welfare (HHJ) and 60 students who have studied the Preschool Teacher programme, Professional Qualification Programme for Teachers and Supplementary Pedagogical programme at the School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University graduated. See our big slideshow!
At HLK, the students first mingled in the orangery before joining their loved ones for the ceremony in the JU auditorium, which featured speeches, singing and music, and much joy.
Ida Sandberg graduated from the preschool teacher programme and has found a job at Stensholm preschool in Huskvarna, where she starts work on Monday.
”It will be nice to start working, but it will be a completely different life now, which is both exciting and a little scary,” says Ida Sandberg with a smile.
She thinks that the preschool teacher programme at HLK has been very rewarding and recommends others to study it.
”We have learnt a lot that we will be able to use in working life and we have had committed teachers who have really cared about us students," says Ida Sandberg.
Herman Haurami, who works as a maths teacher at Sandagymnasiet in Huskvarna, graduated from the Professional Qualification programme for Teachers (VAL) at HLK.
”It is an excellent opportunity to combine work with studies. It gives a lot back and has been super fun. HLK is a great university with good teachers and administrators and nice premises. Everything has worked perfectly,” says Herman Haurami.
As per tradition, the graduation ceremonies for HHJ were held in Pingstkyrkan.
Filip Engberg has studied to become a nurse and plans to continue studying in the future. But first he's going to work at Ryhov County Hospital and gain work experience.
”There's a certain sadness in leaving the study group that you've been with for three years. But at the same time, it feels fun and exciting to be finished and to get out into working life,” says Filip.
