Anne-Marie Suutari
The overall title for Anne-Marie Suutari’s postdoctoral research project is "Improved health among immigrants living with heart failure – Co-production and evaluation of support for self-care of heart failure in a Swedish context". First, this research aims to explore the association between country of birth and hospitalizations due to heart failure. Next, the research aims to explore the immigrants’ needs for support for self-care of heart failure and how this support might be co-produced by the immigrants themselves, their family members and healthcare professionals. Finally, the research aims to explore if and how co-produced support for self-care of heart failure improves self-care behaviors and/or health related quality of life among immigrants with heart failure.
Anne-Marie is a former student of the master’s program in healthcare quality improvement and leadership in health and welfare at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University. In June 2023 she defended her doctoral thesis with the title "Co-producing healthcare quality improvement: the prerequisites for, the value of and the lessons from co-production in a Swedish cardiac care setting". Since January 2025 she holds the position of a postdoctoral researcher within the research environment Studies on Integrated Health and Welfare (SIHW). She lectures and supervises students at the master’s program in healthcare quality improvement and leadership in health and welfare. Further, Anne-Marie is involved in research projects aimed at exploring various aspects of co-production and healthcare quality improvements. Anne-Marie has been awarded the Alumni of the year 2023 at School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University. Anne-Marie is a licensed pharmacist. She also possesses a clinical practice background as an internist and cardiologist.
