User account/registration

You can activate your user account two weeks before the roll-call.

Go to ju.se/activation External link, opens in new window. and log in a One Time Password (if you have Swedish BankID or an account at eduID External link, opens in new window. you can use that as well).

When you have loged in you register for the courses/programmes you are going to participate in and then follow the steps in the activation process.

I get an error message in the processe - post a case to IT Helpdesk

When you activate your JU account you will see your username and set a password. If you have forgotten the username, please contact IT Helpdesk.

If you ahve forgotten your password you can reset it via passwordreset.ju.se - if you have validated your private contact information during the activation process.

You can manage your account via the selfservice web page ju.se/myaccount. External link, opens in new window. You can see the period of validity and printing status. You can also change PIN for your JU card, set a password for the wireless network and change password for your account on that page.

MFA is a security measure that requires you to use something more than just your username and password to log in to certain services and systems, such as Canvas and Office. For example, it could be an app that you authenticate with after entering your password.

The period of validity is extended each time you get a registration in Ladok, e.g. registration for a course or a result for an examination. The account is extended for maximum12 months at a time. You can always see current period of validity at the selfservice web page ju.se/myaccount. External link, opens in new window.

Your email address is your username@student.ju.se and you can read your emails via the Office portal External link, opens in new window.. You log in with your email address and you password at JU.

Wireless connection

The wireless network for staff and students is called Eduroam. you connect with a separate Eduroam account. Log in to the selfservice web page ju.se/myaccount External link, opens in new window. and click on the option Eduroam (Wi-Fi) in the menu. You can see your username for Eduroam and can set a password. Note! The password has to be exactly 7 characters long.

No, there is no open wireless network at JU. Students and staff connect to the wireless network Eduroam with a separate Eduroam account.

Printing

As a student you need to charge your printin accoount before you can print or copy. Then you can print from computers in computer labs or the library, via a web portal, via email or by installing the drivers on your private computer.

At the student web, under Service, there is a page with a lot of information about IT that are good to know.

As long as you are a student at JU you have the possibility to install the Office programs on your computer, phone or tablet. To install them on your computer go to the Office portal External link, opens in new window.. Log in with your emaiul address and JU password and click on the button Install in the upper right corner.

Under FAQ/Manuals at the IT Helpdesk web there is a page called Work at home. At that page you can see which softwares are available to install on a private computer and how to get access. Sometimes your teacher needs to order the software from us.
